SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 57 of the Acts of 1990
SECTION 13. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an
emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from the
date it is enacted. [It shall remain in effect until the end of June 30, 1994, and with no
further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be abrogated and of no
further force and effect.]
Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community Development
5-624.
(a) There is an Advisory Committee on Archaeology. It consists of 7 members
whom the Governor appoints upon recommendation of the Secretary; with the advice and
consent of the Senate, from among [citizens of the State] PERSONS who have skill and
knowledge in. archaeological matters including representatives of reputable museums,
institutions of higher education, recognized scientific or historical societies or institutions
and qualified private firms that provide archaeological services. The Committee shall
choose a chairman. There shall be at least four meetings a year held at the call of the
chairman. The Chief Archaeologist or at least one of the State Archaeologists referred to
in § 5-622 of this subtitle shall attend all Advisory Committee meetings.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.
