1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

Culture and the Commission on Indian Affairs to accept gifts, grants, donations,
bequests, or endowments for any purposes of the respective commission; permitting
certain income and fees received by the Commission on African American History
and Culture, Commission on Indian Affairs, and Maryland Historical Trust that are
unexpended at the end of a fiscal year to be maintained in special funds and carried
forward to subsequent fiscal years; providing that certain funds are subject to audit by
the State, including by the Legislative Auditor;
and. generally relating to the
Commission on African American History and Culture, Commission on Indian
Affairs, and Maryland Historical Trust.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Section 5-301, 5-401, and 5-603

Annotated Code of Maryland

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED . BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND; That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community Development

5-301.

The Commission on African American History and Culture is a part of the
Department. In this subtitle, it shall be referred to as the "Commission".

5-303.

The Commission shall:

(1)     Initiate, direct, and coordinate projects that further the understanding
of African American history and culture;

(2)     Continue the survey of historic buildings, sites, artifacts, archives and
repositories, and publish and disseminate these findings and information;
