AN ACT concerning

Corporations and Associations - Documents

FOR the purpose of expanding the types of documents that the Department of
Assessments and Taxation may process by facsimile transmission or on an expedited
basis; and establishing fees for the processing of certain documents on an expedited
basis.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(8) IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER AUTHORIZED MEANS OF FILING, A FILING
THAT MUST BE MADE WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF ASSESSMENTS AND
.TAXATION UNDER THIS SECTION MAY BE MADE BY FACSIMILE TRANSMISSION
UNDER § 1-201 OF THE CORPORATIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS ARTICLE.

(c) (1) In this subsection "facsimile device" means a machine that transmits,
receives, and copies documents electronically or telephonically over telecommunication
lines.

(2)      [The] AS PROVIDED IN § 1-203.2 OF THIS SUBTITLE, THE Department
may accept [domestic or foreign charter or limited partnership] documents that are filed
for record by means of a facsimile device.

(3)     Documents filed for record by means of a facsimile device are subject to
the regular filing fees and expedited filing fees provided in § 1-203 of this subtitle.
