Ch. 84

(1)     The academic requirements of an educational program in occupational
therapy that:

(i) Is recognized by the Board and accredited by the American
Medical OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY Association in collaboration with the American
Occupational Th
erapy[Association]CERTIFICATION BOARD or by the World
Federation of Occupational Therapy
OR OTHER NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED
PROGRAMMATIC ACCREDITING AGENCY;
and

(ii) Is concentrated in:

1.       Biological or physical science;

2.       Psychology;

3.       Sociology; and

4.       Selected treatment modalities; and

(2)     At THE EQUIVALENT OF AT least 6 months of supervised, full-time field
work experience at a recognized educational institution or in a training program approved
by the educational institution where the applicant met the academic requirements.

(e)     An applicant for an occupational therapy assistant license shall have
completed successfully:

(1)     The academic requirements of an educational program for occupational
therapy assistants that is recognized by the Board and approved ACCREDITED by the
American Occupational Therapy [Association] CERTIFICATION BOARD or by the World
Federation of Occupational Therapy
OR OTHER NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED
PROGRAMMATIC ACCREDITING AGENCY;
and

(2)     At THE EQUIVALENT OF AT least 2 months of supervised, full-time field
work experience at a recognized educational institution or in a training program approved
by the educational institution where the applicant met the academic requirements.

(f)      Except as otherwise provided in this title, the applicant shall pass an
examination given by the Board under this subtitle.

10-307.

(a) Subject to the provisions of this subsection, the Board shall waive the appropriate
examination requirement of this title for an applicant who:

(1)     Pays the application fee set by the Board under § 10-304 of this subtitle; and

(2)     (i) If applying for an occupational therapist license, was certified by the
American Occupational Therapy [Association
7 CERTIFICATION BOARD as an occupational
therapist registered (O.T.R.) at any time before July 1, 1979; or

(ii) If applying for an occupational therapy assistant license, was certified
by the American Occupational Therapy [Association! CERTIFICATION BOARD as a certified
occupational therapy assistant (C.O.T.A.) at any time before July 1, 1979.
