AN ACT concerning
Carjacking
FOR the purpose of making carjacking and armed carjacking specific crimes; providing
imposing providing certain penalties for the commission of a carjacking; defining
carjacking and certain other terms these offenses; making carjacking an aggravating
circumstance and armed carjacking aggravating circumstances for the purpose of
the death penalty sentencing procedure; making this Act an emergency measure;
defining a certain term; expanding the definition of a certain term relating to
mandatory penalties for certain repeat offenders to include armed carjacking; and
generally relating to carjacking and the theft of a motor vehicle armed carjacking a
carjacking; defining "carjacking" and certain other terms; making carjacking an
aggravating circumstance for the purpose of the death penalty sentencing procedure;
providing that carjacking and armed carjacking are crimes of violence for certain
purposes; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to carjacking
and the theft of a motor vehicle.
