1. A SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE THAT IS
LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AND THAT, WITHIN 2 YEARS AFTER THE
APPLICANT'S GRADUATION, HOLDS ACCREDITED STATUS FROM THE NATIONAL
ARCHITECTURAL ACCREDITING BOARD; OR
2. A FOREIGN SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE THAT
THE BOARD DETERMINES IS COMPARABLE TO AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL OF
ARCHITECTURE IN THE UNITED STATES; AND
(II) HAVE PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE OR
ADDITIONAL ACADEMIC TRAINING IN ARCHITECTURE THAT THE BOARD
CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE.
(2) THE BOARD SHALL EXEMPT AN APPLICANT FROM THE
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS OF PARAGRAPH (1)(I) OF THIS SUBSECTION IF THE
APPLICANT HAS PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE AND ACADEMIC TRAINING IN
ARCHITECTURE THAT THE BOARD CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE.
(D) EXAMINATION.
EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBTITLE, AN APPLICANT
SHALL PASS THE EXAMINATION GIVEN BY THE BOARD UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE.
(E) ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION, THE
BOARD MAY REQUIRE AN APPLICANT TO SATISFY ANY ADDITIONAL
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS THAT THE BOARD ADOPTS FROM THE LICENSING
GUIDELINES PUBLISHED BY THE COUNCIL.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) through (c) of this section
are new language derived without substantive change
from former Art. 56, § 468(a)(3) and the first and
second sentences of (4).
Subsection (d) of this section is new language added
to state expressly that which only was implied in the
former law -- i.e., except as otherwise provided, an
applicant must not only take but pass the examination
given by the Board, to be licensed under this
subtitle.
Subsection (e) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
468(d).
In subsections (a) and (e) of this section, the
references to a "license" and "licensing" are
substituted for the former references to
"registration", for consistency and conformity to
changes in terminology made throughout this article.
