In subsection (b)(2)(i) of this section, the word
"licensed" is substituted for the word "registered" to
conform to changes in terminology made throughout this
article. See the General Revisor's Note to this

article. Section 5 of Ch. ___, Acts of 1989, ensures

the validity of seals with the legend "registered land
surveyor" or "registered property line surveyor" is
not affected by this revision.

The second sentence of former Art. 56, § 338(c), which
provided the seal "is for the personal use of the
registrant only", is deleted as unnecessary in light
of the criminal penalties for use of the seal of
another. See § 15-606 of this title.

15-502. ENDORSEMENT OF DOCUMENTS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

BEFORE A PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR OR LICENSED PROPERTY
LINE SURVEYOR ISSUES TO A CLIENT OR SUBMITS TO A PUBLIC AUTHORITY
ANY PLAN, PLAT, REPORT, OR SPECIFICATION, THE PROFESSIONAL LAND
SURVEYOR OR LICENSED PROPERTY LINE SURVEYOR WHO PREPARED THE
DOCUMENT SHALL ENDORSE ON THE DOCUMENT THE LICENSEE'S:

(1)  NAME; AND

(2)  SEAL OR A FACSIMILE OF THE SEAL.

(B)  ACCEPTANCE OF DOCUMENTS BY PUBLIC AUTHORITIES.

A PUBLIC AUTHORITY MAY NOT ACCEPT ANY SURVEYING PLAN, PLAT,
REPORT, OR SPECIFICATION UNLESS THE DOCUMENT IS ENDORSED AS
REQUIRED UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third and fourth
sentences of former Art. 56, § 338(c).
