Ch. 3
LAWS OF MARYLAND
IF THE BOARD FINDS THAT AN APPLICATION FORM AND THE
ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION DO NOT DEMONSTRATE THAT THE APPLICANT
MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A LICENSE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE, THE
BOARD MAY REQUIRE THE APPLICANT TO SUBMIT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
OR DOCUMENTATION.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second clause of
former Art. 56, § 336(a) and the second clause of
(b)(1), the first sentence of § 334(a), as that
sentence related to payment of fees to the Board, and
the second sentence of § 335(b)(1), the second
sentence of (2), and the second sentence of (3), the
third clause of the first sentence of (d)(l)(i), and
the second and third sentences and, as it related to
applicants for licenses to practice land surveying or
to practice property line surveying, the first
sentence of (a).
In the introductory language of subsection (a)(2) of
this section, the reference to an "application" fee is
substituted for the former references to the part of
the registration fee that accompanies the application.
Therefore, Art. 56, § 336(f), as that subsection
provided that, if the Board does not issue a license
to an applicant, the initial fee would be retained "as
an application fee", is deleted as unnecessary.
In subsection (b)(1)(iii)2A of this section, the
reference to a "licensed property line surveyor" is
added to conform to the practice of the Board to allow
both professional land surveyors and licensed property
line surveyors to be used as character references on
an application for a license to practice property line
surveying.
As to the restrictions on the issuance of property
line surveyor licenses, see § 15-302 of this subtitle.
