(F) FAILURE OR REFUSAL TO APPEAR.

IF, AFTER DUE NOTICE, THE INDIVIDUAL AGAINST WHOM THE ACTION
IS CONTEMPLATED FAILS OR REFUSES TO APPEAR, NEVERTHELESS THE
SUPERINTENDENT MAY HEAR AND DETERMINE THE MATTER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) through (e) of this section
formerly appeared as Art. 56, § 576.

Subsection (f) of this section is new language added
to clarify that, after an accused individual has been
given proper notice, the Superintendent may proceed
with a hearing even if the individual fails to appear.

The only other changes are in style.

13-412. SAME -- SURRENDER OF PRIVATE DETECTIVE CERTIFICATION
CARD AND BADGE.

WITHIN 5 DAYS AFTER THE SUPERINTENDENT SUSPENDS OR REVOKES
THE CERTIFICATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL AS A PRIVATE DETECTIVE, THE
INDIVIDUAL SHALL SURRENDER TO THE SUPERINTENDENT THE
CERTIFICATION CARD AND BADGE, IF ANY, OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

13-501. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.

(A)  BUSINESS REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED.

A PERSON SHALL BE LICENSED AS A PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCY
BEFORE THE PERSON MAY ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF PROVIDING
SECURITY GUARDS FOR HIRE.

(B)  SECURITY GUARD REQUIRED TO BE CERTIFIED.

(1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED UNDER PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, A LICENSED PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCY MAY PROVIDE AN
