Ch. 3

LAWS OF MARYLAND

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 56,
§ 548.

The only changes are in style.

Defined terms: "License" § 13-101
"Superintendent" § 13-101

13-205. DISPOSITION OF MONEY.

THE SUPERINTENDENT SHALL PAY ALL MONEY COLLECTED UNDER THIS
TITLE INTO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is standard language added to
conform to the practice of the Superintendent and,
thus, to clarify that the money is not subject to Art.
88B, § 28(b) of the Code.

Defined term: "Superintendent" § 13-101

13-206. JUDICIAL REVIEW.

ANY PERSON AGGRIEVED BY A FINAL DECISION OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT IN A CONTESTED CASE, AS DEFINED IN § 10-201 OF THE
STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, MAY TAKE AN APPEAL AS ALLOWED IN §§
10-215 AND 10-216 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 56,
§ 565.

Former Art. 56, §§ 578 and 590, which provided for
judicial review of actions under former §§ 574 and
586, are deleted since those actions would be
contested cases and, thus, covered by this section.

No other changes are made.

Defined terms: "Person" § 1-101
"Superintendent" § 13-101

SUBTITLE 3. PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCY LICENSES.

13-301. LICENSE REQUIRED; ELIGIBILITY.

(A)  LICENSE REQUIRED.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, A PERSON SHALL
BE LICENSED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT AS A PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCY
BEFORE THE PERSON MAY CONDUCT A BUSINESS THAT PROVIDES PRIVATE
DETECTIVE SERVICES IN THE STATE.
