MANCHESTER

WHEREAS, on January 9, 1989 the Commissioners of Leonardtown
passed Resolution 1-89 which stated as follows:

BE IT RESOLVED, this ninth day of January, 1989, the
attached proposed charter be and hereby is enacted replacing
and superceding the previous Charter of Leonardtown,
Maryland which was enacted in 1965.

This enactment to be subject to the provisions of Article
HE of the Constitution of Maryland and Article 23 Sections
11 through 18 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

WHEREAS, it was the intention of Resolution 1-89 to repeal
in its entirety, the Charter of Leonardtown, Maryland. Municipal
Charters of Maryland, Chapter 87 Volume VII (1983) and to enact
in place thereof the attached Charter; and

WHEREAS, to date a fair summary of the new, proposed Charter
has not been posted or published as required by Maryland Code
Annotated, Act 23A, Section 13(d) and (e); and

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Commissioners of
Leonardtown to give ample public notice of the enactment of the
attached Charter;

Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, as found in the compilation of
Municipal Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed.

Section(s) 101 through 1305, inclusive of the Charter of the

Town of Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, as found in the

compilation of Municipal Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition),
added.

Effective Date April 4, 1989]

RESOLUTION NO. 1-88

Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Manchester, Maryland,
pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, and Section 13 of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, entitled "Corporations - Municipal,"
as that Section was enacted by Chapter 423 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1955, entitled "A RESOLUTION TO
AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF MANCHESTER, BY REPEALING SECTION
