STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article 33 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State Administrative Board of
Election Laws does hereby certify that at the General Election
held in the State of Maryland on November 8, 1988, an Act known
as Chapter 793 of the Acts of 1988 was submitted to the voters of
the State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning
General Assembly - Veto and Consent Calendars
FOR the purpose of authorizing the General Assembly to adopt by
rule a veto calendar and a first-reading consent calendar
procedure that permits vetoed bills and first reader bills
to be considered and voted upon as a single group, after
notice and opportunity to remove bills from the respective
calendar; clarifying language and punctuation; and
submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the
State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election, 704,468
votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 793 and 378,997
votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter 793, the
said Chapter 793 of the Acts of 1988 has therefore been ratified.
GIVEN Under My Hand and the Seal of the State Administrative
Board of Election Laws of the State of Maryland, Done at the City
of Annapolis, this 8th day of December, In the Year of Our Lord,
One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Eight.
