WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1480.

This bill excludes the sale of broadcasting rights for boxing and
wrestling from the boxing and wrestling tax.

Senate Bill 817, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 25, 1989, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1480.

Sincerely,

William Donald Schaefer

Governor

House Bill No. 1480

AN ACT concerning

Boxing and Wrestling Tax - Broadcast Rights

FOR the purpose of providing that the boxing and wrestling tax
does not apply to the sale of broadcast rights; and
generally relating to the boxing and wrestling tax.

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1988 Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
