AN ACT concerning
Workers' Compensation - Owner Operators of Motor
Vehicles and Motor Carriers
FOR the purpose of exempting from workers' compensation coverage
certain owner operators of certain motor vehicles who enter
into certain contracts with motor carriers; requiring
certain owner operators of certain motor vehicles to provide
proof of certain insurance as may be required by the
workers' compensation law; exempting certain motor carriers
from certain claims of employees of certain owner operators
of certain motor vehicles; and generally relating to the
workers' compensation liability of certain owner operators
of certain motor vehicles who enter into certain contracts
with motor carriers. written contracts with motor carriers
for permanent or trip leasing under certain circumstances
certain contracts with motor carriers; requiring certain
owner operators of motor vehicles to provide proof of
certain insurance as may be required by the workers
compensation law; providing that a motor carrier shall be
deemed a principal contractor and an owner operator shall be
deemed a subcontractor and subject to a certain section; and
generally relating to the workers' compensation liability of
certain owner operators of motor vehicles who enter into
certain contracts with motor carriers.
