LAWS OF MARYLAND

The phrase "[f]rom among the members of the Board" is
added for clarity.

Defined term: "Board" § 11-101

11-204. QUORUM; MEETINGS; COMPENSATION; STAFF.

(A)  QUORUM.

A MAJORITY OF THE AUTHORIZED MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD IS A
QUORUM.

(B)  MEETINGS.

THE BOARD SHALL DETERMINE THE TIMES AND PLACES OF ITS
MEETINGS.

(C)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.

(1)  SUBJECT TO PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION AND
TO THE STATE BUDGET, EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD IS ENTITLED TO:

(I)  COMPENSATION OF $500 PER YEAR, TO BE PAID
OUT OF MONEY THAT THE BOARD COLLECTS; AND

(II)  REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES UNDER THE
STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

(2)  THE SECRETARY OR DESIGNEE OF THE SECRETARY IS NOT
ENTITLED TO COMPENSATION UNDER THIS SUBSECTION.

(D)  STAFF.

THE BOARD MAY EMPLOY A STAFF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE
BUDGET.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from the
first sentence of former Art. 74, § 1(c).

Subsections (b) and (d) of this section are standard
language added for clarity.

Subsection (c)(1) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from former Art.
74, § 1(e)(2).

Subsection (c)(2) of this section is new language
added to exclude the Secretary and designee from the
provisions of subsection (c)(1) of this section. As
an ex officio member, the Secretary is not entitled to
compensation in addition to the salary as Secretary.
