WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

FOR the purpose of altering the required distribution of
agricultural land transfer tax revenues when not used for
certain purposes within a certain period of time; requiring
that the county collector of taxes transfer certain
agricultural land transfer tax revenues to the county's
program open space account; providing that these funds may
be used in addition to certain other funds for certain

recreation and open space purposes; making technical

changes; providing for the termination of this Act; and
generally relating to the distribution of agricultural land
transfer tax revenues.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

2-501.

It is the intent of the Maryland General Assembly to
preserve agricultural land and woodland in order to:

(1)  provide sources of agricultural products within
the State for the citizens of the State;

(2)  control the urban expansion which is consuming
the agricultural land and woodland of the State;
