JOINT RESOLUTIONS
(6) 1 representative of the Maryland Association of Counties, appointed by the
Governor;
(7) 1 representative of the Maryland Municipal League, appointed by the
Governor;
(8) 1 representative of the solid waste industry, appointed by the Governor;
(9) 1 representative of the Maryland Environmental Service, appointed by the
Secretary of Natural Resources;
(10) 1 representative of the Food Dealers Association, appointed by the Governor;
and
(11) 1 representative of the Restaurant Association, appointed by the Governor;
and be it further
(a) The Advisory Council shall consist of 7 members.
(b) Five Three members of the Advisory Council shall be appointed by the
Governor, and shall include:
(1) A member of the solid waste minimization staff of the Department of the
Environment;
(2) A representative of the packaging industry;
(3) A representative of environmental groups; and
(4) One member determined by the Secretary;
(5) One member shall be the Director of the Maryland Environmental
Service of the Department of Natural Resources, or his designee; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Advisory Council shall consist of one member of the House
of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of the House, and one member of the Senate of
Maryland, appointed by the President of the Senate; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Environment shall designate the chairman of
the Advisory Council and shall provide staff for the Advisory Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Advisory Council shall report its findings and
recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by December 1, 1989; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded by the Department of
Legislative Reference to the Honorable William Donald Schaefer, Governor of Maryland;
the Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr., President of the Senate of Maryland; the
Honorable R. Clayton Mitchell, Jr., Speaker of the House of Delegates; and the Honorable
Martin W. Walsh, Jr., Secretary of the Environment, 201 W. Preston St., Baltimore, MD
21201.
