(House Bill 925)

AN ACT concerning

Juvenile Causes - Intake Procedures -
Handgun Violations

FOR the purpose of repealing the age of a child as a limitation
on a certain requirement that complaints of felonies shall
be forwarded by an intake officer to the State's Attorney
under certain circumstances; requiring an intake officer to
take certain actions when a complaint alleges that a child
has committed a certain handgun violation; altering the
nature of the alleged acts which would be criminal if
committed by an adult in the determination of the
appropriate juvenile procedure; providing for the
application of this Act; making stylistic and technical
changes; and generally relating to the intake procedures in
juvenile causes involving handgun and certain other
violations.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

3-810.

(a)  The intake officer shall receive:

(1)  Complaints from a person or agency having
knowledge of facts which may cause a person to be subject to the
jurisdiction of the court; and

(2)  Citations issued by a police officer under §
3-835 of this article.

(b)  (1) Except as otherwise provided in this, subsection, in
considering the complaint, the intake officer shall make a
preliminary inquiry within 15 days as to whether the court has
