9-501. SIGNING AND SEALING DOCUMENTS.

BEFORE A LICENSED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT ISSUES TO A CLIENT OR
SUBMITS TO A PUBLIC AUTHORITY ANY FINAL DRAWING, PLAN,
SPECIFICATION, REPORT, OR OTHER DOCUMENT, THE LICENSED LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT WHO PREPARED OR APPROVED THE DOCUMENT SHALL SIGN, SEAL,
AND DATE THE DOCUMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 280(b).

The phrase "to a client" is added to clarify to whom a
licensee would issue a document.

SUBTITLE 6. PROHIBITED ACTS.

9-601. PRACTICING WITHOUT LICENSE.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, A PERSON MAY NOT
PRACTICE, ATTEMPT TO PRACTICE, OR OFFER TO PRACTICE LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURE IN THE STATE UNLESS LICENSED BY THE BOARD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 272, as that sentence related to
practicing, and rephrased in the standard language
used throughout this article to express a prohibition
against practicing an occupation regulated by the
State without a license.

The references to "attempt" or "offer" to practice are
added in accordance with the statement of policy in
former Art. 56, § 272. These additions conform to
similar provisions governing other regulated
occupations in the Code. See, e.g., HO § 8-401, as to
nursing home administrators, and HO § 15-505, as to
podiatrists.
