AN ACT concerning
Health Insurance - Reimbursement for Pharmaceutical
Products - Pharmaceutical Services
FOR the purpose of prohibiting any group or individual health
insurance policy issued by an insurer or nonprofit health
service plan that provides hospital, medical, or surgical
benefits and that provides reimbursement for pharmaceutical
products from establishing the amount of reimbursement on
the basis off the identity, practicing specialty, or
occupation of the authorized prescriber; specifying that
certain provisions of law do not limit the amount of
reimbursement under this Act; prohibiting certain individual
or group health insurance policies issued or delivered in
the State from imposing a copayment, deductible, or other
condition on an insured or certificate holder utilizing the
services of a community pharmacy that is not imposed on an
insured or certificate holder utilizing the services of a
mail order pharmacy under certain circumstances; providing
for a certain exception to the Act; and providing for the
applicability of this Act; defining certain terms; and
generally relating to health insurance reimbursement of
pharmaceutical services and products.
