CREDITED TO THE GASOLINE AND MOTOR VEHICLE REVENUE ACCOUNT FOR
DISTRIBUTION UNDER § 8-403 OR § 8-404 OF THIS ARTICLE.

(C) SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION:

(1)  MAY CONSIST OF ANY COMBINATION OF LETTERS,
NUMERALS, OR BOTH; AND

(2)  SHALL INCLUDE:

(I)  A REPRESENTATION OF A PURPLE HEART MEDAL
AND RIBBON;

(II)  THE WORDS "COMBAT WOUNDED" PRINTED ACROSS
THE BOTTOM OF THE PLATES; AND

(III)  THE LETTER "P" SITUATED ABOVE THE LETTER
"H", PRINTED ON THE PLATES ADJACENT TO THE INSIGNIA DESCRIBED IN
ITEM (2)(I) OF THIS SUBSECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
be construed to apply to the issuance of registration plates when
the current multiyear registration plates expire, and the Motor
Vehicle Administration is not required to reclaim or reissue
registration plates until the regular expiration of current
plates.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Special Registration Plates -
Purple Heart Recipients

FOR the purpose of providing for the issuance by the Motor
Vehicle Administration of certain special registration
plates to Purple Heart recipients; prescribing certain
classes of vehicles that may be eligible to display special
registration plates issued under this Act; requiring an
applicant for special registration plates under this Act to
provide certain information to the Administration;
