AN ACT concerning
Transportation - Vehicle Laws
FOR the purpose of amending certain provisions of the Maryland
Vehicle Law to comport with federal law, clarify language,
and eliminate obsolete requirements; requiring a police
officer to grant only the greatest applicable weight limit
tolerance under certain circumstances; limiting the distance
that certain trucks or vehicle combinations may travel on
certain highways for certain purposes; repealing a
restriction on the operation of certain vehicle combinations
on a certain highway; reducing the distance that a certain
vehicle load may extend beyond the vehicle the rear of an
automobile transporter; altering certain requirements
relating to the display of warning flags required under
certain circumstances; altering provisions of law to require
a shipper or motor carrier of hazardous materials to comply
with certain provisions of law; altering a provision of law
relating to the application of certain regulations; altering
certain requirements relating to the driving in this State
by a nonresident of a vehicle registered in another State;
defining a certain term; and generally relating to the
Maryland Vehicle Law.
