COUNTY AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY DELEGATIONS, AND THE PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY EXECUTIVES ITS DETERMINATION IN
WRITING THAT:

(I)  STATES THE REASONS FOR THE SUSPENSION UNDER
THIS SUBSECTION; AND

(II)  SETS FORTH THE DURATION OF THE SUSPENSION
AND THE TIME OF RESUMPTION OF THE DIVESTITURE PROGRAM.

(6)  A SUSPENSION OF THE DIVESTITURE PROGRAM UNDER
THIS SUBSECTION MAY NOT EXCEED 180 DAYS.

(7)  THE DEADLINE FOR COMPLETE DIVESTITURE SHALL BE
EXTENDED BY THE PERIOD OF ANY SUSPENSION UNDER THIS SUBSECTION.

(8)  DURING THE PERIOD OF ANY SUSPENSION UNDER THIS
SUBSECTION, THE WSSC MAY MAKE INVESTMENTS OR DEPOSITS OTHERWISE
PROHIBITED UNDER SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION.

(D) THE WSSC SHALL REFER TO AND USE AS A GUIDELINE THE MOST
RECENT LIST ENTITLED "U.S. AND CANADIAN BUSINESS IN SOUTH AFRICA"
THAT IS MAINTAINED BY THE INVESTOR RESPONSIBILITY RESEARCH CENTER
(IRRC) LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, D.C. OR BY ITS SUCCESSOR
ORGANIZATION TO INDEPENDENTLY DETERMINE WHICH BANKS, FINANCIAL
INSTITUTIONS, COMPANIES, AND THEIR SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES
ARE DOING BUSINESS IN OR WITH SOUTH AFRICA.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

(House Bill 1401)

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt - Maryland Museum of African Art

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt in
the amount of $50,000 the proceeds to be used as a grant to
the Maryland Museum of African Art for capital improvements
and capital equipping of the art museum subject to the
requirement that the Maryland Museum of African Art provides
at least an equal and matching fund of a certain kind for
the same purpose by a certain date; and providing generally
for the issue and sale of bonds evidencing the loan.
