REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
526(a), as that subsection related to a violation of §
521(10).

The reference to "attempt to sell" is added to
indicate clearly that the former reference to
"[s]elling" included all aspects of the solicitation
and was not limited to a consummated sale.

Defined terms: "Hearing aid" § 8-101
"Person" § 1-101

8-517. GROSS NEGLIGENCE.

A PERSON MAY NOT BE GROSSLY NEGLIGENT WHILE PROVIDING
HEARING AID SERVICES.

521(3).

8-518. UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES.

WHILE PROVIDING OR OFFERING TO PROVIDE HEARING AID SERVICES,
A PERSON MAY NOT ENGAGE IN AN UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE,
AS DEFINED IN § 13-301 OF THE COMMERCIAL LAW ARTICLE.

526(a), as that subsection related to a violation of §
521(11).

Defined terms: "Person" § 1-101
"Provide hearing aid services" § 8-101

8-519. PENALTIES.

(A) MISDEMEANORS.

A PERSON IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR IF THE PERSON:

(1)  VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(2)  FAILS TO DISPLAY A LICENSE, AS REQUIRED UNDER §
8-311(A) OF THIS TITLE;
