LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

CHAPTER 664

(House Bill 423)

AN ACT concerning

Prisoners - Employment -
Collection and Disposition of Earnings

FOR the purpose of repealing certain provisions concerning work
release for certain prisoners incarcerated in the Queen
Anne's County Jail; repealing certain administrative
responsibilities of the Department of Parole and Probation
for the work release program in Queen Anne's County,
including the collection and disbursement of prisoner
earnings; requiring certain prisoners who are incarcerated
in the Queen Anne's County Jail to pay certain reasonable
costs; requiring the Queen Anne's County Commissioners to
establish the rate of payment and designate the warden of
the Queen Anne's County Jail as the agent to collect these
costs; and generally relating to the collection of the costs
of food, lodging, and clothing from certain prisoners by the
warden of the Queen Anne's County Jail.
