WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 661

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the local
alcoholic beverages license issuing authority may waive the
requirements under this Act if no alcohol awareness program has
been approved or is available in the jurisdiction of the local
license issuing authority.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That a holder or
holder's designee of any class of an on-premises retail alcoholic
beverages license shall complete the alcohol awareness program
prior to September, 1990.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act does
not apply to any holder of any class of a retail alcoholic
beverages license who completed an alcohol awareness program no
more than 5 years prior to July 1, 1989, if the program is
approved by the Comptroller under the provisions of Section 1 of
this Act.

SECTION 4. SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1989.

CHAPTER 661

(House Bill 402)

AN ACT concerning

Delegate Scholarship Program

FOR the purpose of providing that a House of Delegates
Scholarship may be used at certain private career schools
that are accredited by a national accrediting association
approved by the United States Department of Education; and
generally relating to the use of Delegate Scholarships.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 18-501 and 18-506
