including "pilot", "bay pilot", "licensed pilot", "State licensed
pilot", or "Maryland pilot", by description of services, methods,
or procedures, or otherwise, that the person is authorized by the
State to provide pilotage.

11-703.

After receiving notice, a licensed pilot may not refuse to
aid a vessel that is in distress:

(1)  within 18 nautical miles south of Cape Henry;

(2)  within 18 nautical miles east of Cape Henry; or

(3)   in the Chesapeake Bay.

11-704.

Unless a person is a licensed pilot, the person may not use
a boat as a pilot boat.

[11-705.

(a)   (1) A person who violates any provision of § 11-701 of
this subtitle shall pay a fine of $150 to the Board.

(2) The Board shall pay the fine to the Association.

(b)  A licensed pilot who violates any provision of § 11-703
of this subtitle shall pay a fine of $150 to the Board.

(c)  A person who violates any provision of § 11-704 of this
subtitle shall pay a fine of $150 to the Board.]

11-705.

THE MASTER OF A VESSEL MAY NOT FAIL TO EMPLOY A PILOT AS
REQUIRED UNDER § 11-501 OF THIS TITLE.

11-706.

(A)  EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, A
PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS TITLE IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING
$1,000 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 6 MONTHS OR BOTH.

(B)  A licensed pilot who violates any provision of §
ll-601(b) of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on
conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $100.
