8-302. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE, AN APPLICANT SHALL BE AN
INDIVIDUAL WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

(B)  CHARACTER AND REPUTATION.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE OF GOOD CHARACTER AND REPUTATION.

(C)  AGE.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.

(D)  EDUCATION.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR THE
EQUIVALENT.

(E)  HEALTH.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE FREE OF ANY CONTAGIOUS OR INFECTIOUS
DISEASE.

(F)  EXAMINATION.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBTITLE, THE APPLICANT
SHALL PASS AN EXAMINATION GIVEN BY THE BOARD UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is standard
language added to introduce the basic requirements for
an applicant for a license.

Subsections (b) through (e) of this section are new
language derived without substantive change from
former Art. 56, § 513, except as that section provided
for a registration fee.
