WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

Ch. 3

(2) PAY TO THE BOARD AN APPLICATION FEE OF $45.
(B) CONTENTS OF APPLICATION FORM.

(1)  IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER INFORMATION REQUIRED ON
AN APPLICATION FORM, THE FORM SHALL REQUIRE:

(I)  A STATEMENT ABOUT THE EDUCATION OF THE
APPLICANT;

(II)  A STATEMENT ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE OF THE
APPLICANT IN PRACTICING FORESTRY; AND

(III)  A LIST OF AT LEAST 5 REFERENCES, WHICH
SHALL INCLUDE AT LEAST 3 LICENSED FORESTERS WHO HAVE PERSONAL OR
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE APPLICANT'S EXPERIENCE IN
PRACTICING FORESTRY.

(2)  AN APPLICATION SHALL BE MADE UNDER OATH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first sentence
and, as it related to the initial fee paid by an
applicant, the second sentence of former Art. 56, §
311.

In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the reference to
an "application" fee is substituted for the former
reference to a "registration" fee because the Board
charges a single fee, which is paid on application for
a license. Therefore, the fourth sentence of former
Art. 56, § 311, which provided that, if the Board does
not issue a license to an applicant, the initial fee
would be retained "as an application fee", is deleted
as unnecessary.

The introductory language of subsection (b)(1) of this
section, "[i]n addition to any other information
required on an application form", is added to clarify
that the enumerated requirements may not be
exhaustive.

In subsection (b)(1)(ii) of this section, the

reference to "experience ... in practicing forestry"

is substituted for the former reference to a "detailed

summary of his technical work", as a more descriptive

statement of the information that an applicant must
provide.

Defined terms: "Board" § 7-101

"License" § 7-101 "Licensed forester" § 7-101

"Practice forestry" § 7-101
