CHAPTER 543

(Senate Bill 31)

AN ACT concerning

Hunting License Fees for Senior Citizens —Waiver

FOR the purpose of waiving the fee charged for a senior lifetime
hunting license for residents who are a certain age altering
the creating an additional hunting license and fee required
for residents who are a certain age; altering the amount of
the seller's fee for the issuance of a certain hunting
license; and generally relating to certain senior hunting
licenses.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 10-301(f)(4) 10-301(f)(3) and (4) and (g)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1988 Supplement)

Preamble

WHEREAS, The Department of Natural Resources is required to
waive annual tidal fish license fees for senior citizens over 64
years of age who harvest crabs, oysters, or finfish by certain
methods under certain conditions; and

WHEREAS, Senior citizens who hunt wildlife should be treated
the same as senior citizens who fish, crab, or harvest oysters;
now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

10-301.

(f) (3) (i) There is a senior [lifetime hunting]

CONSOLIDATED ANNUAL HUNTING license AND A SENIOR CONSOLIDATED
LIFETIME HUNTING LICENSE for residents who are at least 65 years
old.

(ii) The senior [lifetime hunting] CONSOLIDATED
ANNUAL HUNTING license AND THE SENIOR CONSOLIDATED LIFETIME
HUNTING LICENSE
authorizes the purchaser to hunt big game in each
hunting season in the State, including bow and arrow, black
powder, and regular firearms season.
