intended to alter the term of any member of the Board.
See § 7 of Ch. ___, Acts of 1989. Accordingly, in
subsection (g)(1) of this section, the specific
reference to "July 1" is added. The term of 1
licensed forester member of the Board expires each
year. The terms of the 2 consumer members of the
Board serving on October 1, 1989, expire in 1994.
Subsection (h)(1) of this section is new language
added to conform to the provisions of Md.
Constitution, Art. II, § 15. For other provisions on
removal, see: Md. Constitution, Art. XV, § 2, on
suspension and removal for crimes, and Art. 41, §
1-203 of the Code, on removal for failure to attend
meetings.
In subsection (a)(3) of this section, the specific
reference to "the advice and consent of the Senate" is
substituted for the former phrase "in the manner
hereinbefore provided", for clarity.
In subsection (a)(4) of this section, the reference to
the "Maryland members of the Maryland-Delaware
Division of the Allegheny Society of American
Foresters" is substituted for the former reference to
the "Maryland Chapter, Society of American Foresters",
to reflect the current organization of the Society.
Subsection (b) of this section is revised to apply to
the consumer members of the Board as well as the
licensed forester members, to conform to practice in
appointing the members.
In subsection (g)(4) of this section, the former
reference to serving "until the expiration of the term
for which the member is appointed" is deleted as
surplusage. For circumstances under which subsection
(g)(4) of this section applies, see the General
Revisor's Note to this article.
The second and third clauses of the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 301 and the first sentence of § 302,
which provided for appointment of and specified the
qualifications of the original Board members, are
deleted as obsolete.
