Preamble

WHEREAS, The aging of our population promises to be one of
the most significant demographic phenonema facing us in the next
decade; and

WHEREAS, Meeting the needs of this rapidly growing
population of older people requires planning and coordination
among many State and local agencies; and

WHEREAS, To maximize a person's ability to live
independently, services to older people must be constantly
adapted to meet individual needs; and

WHEREAS, Partnerships between public and private agencies
benefit older people in Maryland; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 70B - Office on Aging

4A.

There is an Interagency Committee on Aging Services in the
Executive Department.

4B.

(a) The Interagency Committee on Aging Services consists of
the following members:

(1)  The Director of the Office on Aging;

(2)  The Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene; [and]

(3)  The Secretary of Human Resources!.];
