5-602. TEACHING WITHOUT LICENSE.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS TITLE, A PERSON MAY NOT
TEACH, ATTEMPT TO TEACH, OR OFFER TO TEACH COSMETOLOGY IN THE
STATE UNLESS LICENSED BY THE BOARD TO TEACH COSMETOLOGY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
480(a), as that subsection related to teaching beauty
culture.

The words "attempt" and "offer" are added to conform
to similar provisions governing other regulated
occupations in the Code.

As to the referenced exceptions, see §§ 5-102 and
5-301 of this title.

5-603. OPERATING BEAUTY SALON OR COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL WITHOUT
PERMIT.

(A)  BEAUTY SALON.

A PERSON MAY NOT OPERATE A BEAUTY SALON IN THE STATE UNLESS
THE PERSON HOLDS A BEAUTY SALON PERMIT ISSUED BY THE BOARD.

(B)  COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL.

A PERSON MAY NOT OPERATE A COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL IN THE STATE
UNLESS THE PERSON HOLDS A SCHOOL PERMIT ISSUED BY THE BOARD.

places for practicing or teaching beauty culture.
