requirement does not apply to any areas which have previously
been authorized for acquisition by the General Assembly.] The
Department may purchase or erect any structure necessary for
wildlife management and may purchase or lease any area of land or
water excluding the ownership of and the right to drill any
mineral, oil, or gas.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Subsidized Rental Housing -
Payments in Lieu of Taxes

FOR the purpose of exempting, except in Baltimore City in
Montgomery County, certain real property used for subsidized
rental housing from the county and municipal corporation
property tax under certain circumstances, if the owner and
the governing body of the county and, where applicable,
municipal corporation Mongtomery County agree to a
negotiated payment in lieu of taxes; and generally relating
to payments in lieu of taxes for certain real property used
for subsidized rental housing in Montgomery County.
