AN ACT concerning

Strip Mining of Coal

FOR the purpose of altering certain public notice and hearing
requirements for strip mining applications; repealing
certain requirements pertaining to the completion report,
mining and reclamation progress report, monthly report, and
annual report; authorizing the Department to require certain
information on monthly and annual reports, mining and
reclamation progress reports, and completion reports;
providing for the Departmental approval of the mining and
reclamation progress report and map; exempting the operator
from filing a map under certain conditions; providing an
exemption for the operator upon approval of the completion
report; requiring the written approval of the Department
prior to the transfer, assignment, or sale of any rights
granted by the issuance of any permit; altering certain
definitions; and generally relating to the administrative
procedures for permitting and regulating the strip mining of
coal.
