35B.
(A) A PERSON MAY NOT SELL, BARTER, OR TRADE, OR OFFER TO
SELL, BARTER, OR TRADE A CHILD FOR MONEY OR PROPERTY, EITHER REAL
OR PERSONAL, OR ANYTHING ELSE OF VALUE.---------------------------
(B) A PERSON WHO VIOLATES THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A
MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING
$10,000 OR IMPRISONMENT IN THE PENITENTIARY NOT EXCEEDING 5 YEARS
OR BOTH FOR EACH OFFENSE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning
Tobacco Products - Sales to Minors
FOR the purpose of altering a provision of law that prohibits
dealers, vendors, and certain other persons from selling
tobacco products to minors under a certain age; altering a
provision of law that allows a minor under a certain age to
buy certain tobacco products if the minor has a note from
the parent or guardian; eliminating the mandatory minimum
fine for dealers, vendors, and certain other persons selling
tobacco products to minors under a certain age; prescribing
that each cigarette vending machine display a label stating
the age requirement and penalty for selling tobacco products
to minors under a certain age; providing an exception under
certain circumstances; and generally relating to sales of
tobacco products to minors under a certain age.
