LAWS OF MARYLAND
Sheriff shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as
otherwise provided in Section 2 of this Act, compensation
increases resulting from this Act shall be implemented July 1,
1990.
Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning
Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program Department
of Housing and Community Development - Rehabilitation
and Insurance Programs and Fund
FOR the purpose of transferring certain provisions as of a
certain date; modifying certain definitions; removing
provisions relating to a special fund and adding provisions
relating to Rental Housing Programs Fund and the Special
Loan Programs Fund; adding provisions relating to the
Multifamily Rehabilitation Program, the Regular
Rehabilitation Program and the Special Rehabilitation
Program; clarifying the Department of Housing and Community
Development's authority to make loans on terms deemed
necessary to make housing affordable to families of limited
income; authorizing certain interest rates subject to
certain conditions; authorizing certain modifications to
loans; authorizing the Department to require a contribution
from the appropriate political subdivision; removing certain
detailed provisions concerning interest rates and income
requirements and authorizing the Secretary to set income
limits; permitting loans under the Lead Paint Abatement
Program to include the cost of any testing which has
identified the need for lead paint abatement; repealing the
Livability Code Rehabilitation Program as of a certain date;
authorizing the Department to transfer moneys in the Rental
Housing Programs Fund and the Special Loans Program Fund to
certain other funds under certain conditions; extending
certain forgiveness provisions; authorizing the Maryland
Housing Fund to insure bridge loans for certain rental
