Ch. 169                                            LAWS OF MARYLAND

(I)  COMPENSATING FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL;

(II)  TRAINING PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN FIRE AND
RESCUE SERVICES, INCLUDING VOLUNTEERS;

(III)  PURCHASING:

1.  FIRE AND RESCUE EQUIPMENT; OR

2.  REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR FIRE AND
RESCUE SERVICES; AND

(IV)  CONSTRUCTING FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE
BUILDINGS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an
emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety, has been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect
from the date it is enacted.

AN ACT concerning

Voter Registration Applications - Registration by Mail

FOR the purpose of providing that voter registration applications
mailed not later than a certain day preceding certain
elections are considered timely; providing that voter
registration applications mailed on a certain other day
preceding certain elections are considered timely under
certain circumstances; and generally relating to voter
registration by mail.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
