AN ACT concerning

Washington County Board of Supervisors
of Elections - Compensation

FOR the purpose of altering the amount of compensation for
members of the Washington County Board of Supervisors of
Elections; and providing that this Act does not apply to the
salary or compensation of the incumbent members of the
Board.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 2-3(a)(22)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several political
subdivisions of the State shall receive an annual salary of not
less than the following amounts:

(22) Washington County: [$1,800] $2,300 for the
President and [$1,500] $2,000 for each member.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or
compensation of the President and members of the Washington
County Board of Supervisors of Elections in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the President and
members of the Washington County Board of Supervisors of
Elections shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
