AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - State's Attorney - Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's Attorney of
Frederick County; providing that this Act does not apply to
the salary or compensation of the incumbent State's
Attorney; and clarifying certain language.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

40.

(a) The State's Attorneys in the several counties of the
State shall receive annually the respective salaries set forth
for performing the duties required of them by their respective
public local laws and by the public general laws, and such
expenses as are provided by law and by the current practice in
the several counties. The State's Attorneys shall receive annual
payments for office, traveling and other expenses. All payments
for salaries and expenses shall be made by the respective
counties in equal monthly installments unless otherwise
specified. The salaries and expenses are as follows:

(k) (1) In Frederick County, the State's Attorney's annual
salary [shall be $40,000] IS $52,000.

(2) The State's Attorney may appoint a member of the
bar of Frederick County as deputy State's Attorney, to serve at
the pleasure of the State's Attorney. The deputy State's
