1-103.
(a) The annual salary for a county commissioner is
[$13,920] $20,000, payable in monthly installments.
(b) The Commissioner elected President of the Board shall
receive an additional $500 per annum.
(c) A Commissioner may not receive any other compensation
for his services as a Washington County Commissioner.
Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

(v) In Washington County,
(1) The State's Attorney's salary is [$46,000]
$55,000.
(2) The State's Attorney shall appoint a deputy
State's Attorney, whose salary is to be determined by the County
Commissioners.
(3) The State's Attorney shall appoint the number of
assistant State's Attorneys approved by the County Commissioners
and provided for in the Washington County budget. The salaries
of the assistant State's Attorneys are to be determined by the
County Commissioners.
(4) The deputy State's Attorney and the assistant
State's Attorneys shall serve at the pleasure of the State's
Attorney. Under the direction of the State's Attorney or in the
absence of the State's Attorney, the deputy State's Attorney and
the assistant State's Attorneys shall perform acts and duties in
relation to all criminal proceedings, all having the same legal
powers as the State's Attorney, to represent the State in all
proceedings in relation to grand jury, circuit court, the
District Court, boards, commissions or agencies of this State or
any county or political subdivision.
(5) The State's Attorney may not engage in the
private practice of law at any time in any jurisdiction during
his tenure of office.

(w) (1) The Sheriff of Washington County shall receive a
salary of [$28,000] $35,000. He may appoint an office deputy at
a salary set by the County Commissioners. He may appoint the
following additional employees who shall receive not less than
