the salary of the Chief Judge shall be [$20,500] $25,500 per
annum.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent judges in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the incumbent judges shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

FOR the purpose of altering the name and certain functions of the
Charles County Board of Parks; eliminating public recreation
from the domain of the Board of Parks; altering certain

Parks; eliminating the office of the Director of Parks and
Recreation in the Board of Parks; clarifying language; and
generally relating to the Board of Parks in Charles County.
