Ch. 3

LAWS OF MARYLAND

Defined terms: "Barber" § 4-101
"Board" § 4-101 "License" § 4-101
"School permit" § 4-101

4-315. DISPLAY OF LICENSES.

EACH MASTER BARBER SHALL DISPLAY THE MASTER BARBER LICENSE
CONSPICUOUSLY IN THE BARBERSHOP WHERE THE MASTER BARBER PRACTICES
BARBERING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 431(b).

The Business Occupations Article Review Committee
notes, for consideration by the General Assembly,
that, for no apparent reason, this section only
applies to master barbers and not to other licensees
-- i.e., journey barbers, barber teachers, assistant
barber teachers, or assistant barbers. In practice,
all licensees post their licenses.

Defined terms: "Barbershop" § 4-101
"License" § 4-101 "Master barber" § 4-101
"Practice barbering" § 4-101

4-316. DENIALS, REPRIMANDS, SUSPENSIONS, AND REVOCATIONS --
GROUNDS.

SUBJECT TO THE HEARING PROVISIONS OF § 4-317 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, THE BOARD MAY DENY A LICENSE TO ANY APPLICANT,
REPRIMAND ANY LICENSEE, OR SUSPEND OR REVOKE A LICENSE IF THE
APPLICANT OR LICENSEE:

(1)  FRAUDULENTLY OR DECEPTIVELY OBTAINS OR ATTEMPTS
TO OBTAIN A LICENSE FOR THE APPLICANT OR LICENSEE OR FOR ANOTHER;

(2)  FRAUDULENTLY OR DECEPTIVELY USES A LICENSE;
