In addition to the appropriation
shown on page 109 of the printed
bill (first reading file bill),
to provide funds for 70 percent
of the cost of computer equipment
for elementary schools in the
following seven targeted rural
counties: Allegany - $212,627;
Caroline - $82,509; Cecil
$228,098; Dorchester - $93,216;
Garrett - $95,850; St. Mary's -
$223,837 and Somerset - $63,863.

Contributions..................

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
the awarding of funds for computer
equipment in seven rural counties be
contingent upon a 30% match by local
boards of education, further provided
that these funds may be expended only
after the local boards of education have
certified to the State Department of
Education that computer equipment is
desired, needed, and will be used in

on-going curriculum programs,____and

further provided that these funds may
not be transferred by budget amendment
or otherwise to any other program for
any other purpose. Any excess funds
shall revert to the General Fund .......
