Any person who violates or causes an act which violates the
provisions of this subtitle or violates or fails to comply with
any order of the Department when due notice is given is guilty of
a misdemeanor. Upon conviction he is subject to a fine not
exceeding [$1,000] $1,000, with costs imposed in the discretion
of the court.

8-1103.
(j) In the event the county or municipality fails to raise
or to pay to the State its percentage of the costs of a project
as established by a financing plan or any portion thereof within
6 months of the certification of costs by the State Comptroller,
the State Comptroller shall cause to be withheld from
State-collected, locally-shared taxes, and, to the extent
necessary, from the State grant provided for by [Title 8,] TITLE
9, SUBTITLE 8, Part I of Article 24 of the Code and the State aid
for police protection provided by Article 15A, §§ 36 through 39
to which the county or municipality would otherwise be entitled,
for the following fiscal year, a sum sufficient to reimburse the
State for any sum remaining unpaid, together with interest on any
such unpaid amount at the rate of 10 percent per annum from the
date of such certification by the State Comptroller.

8-1501.
(a) Any person who violates any provision of this title is
guilty of a misdemeanor. Upon conviction in a court of competent
jurisdiction, unless another penalty is specifically provided
elsewhere in this title, the person is subject to a fine not
exceeding [$500] $500, with costs imposed in the discretion of
the court. Every fine and cost shall be paid in accordance with
Article 38, § 4 of the Code.
