11A.

(a)  (1) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
section, the county commissioners of every county may:

(i) Acquire by purchase, gift, devise, bequest,
condemnation, or otherwise, any property, or any interest
therein, of any kind needed for any public [purpose,] PURPOSE;

(ii) Erect buildings thereon for the benefit of
the [county,] COUNTY; and

(iii) Sell at public sale any property when no
longer needed for public use.

(b)  The county council of Baltimore County [are] IS
authorized and empowered' to pay [such] THE additional benefits
for THE period, or any part of such period, to any applicant who
for any part or all of [said] THE period was a school teacher of
[said] THE county who was retired and who was receiving any
retirement benefits under the provisions of other laws, where
[such] THE benefits in the aggregate were less than one hundred
and twenty-five dollars per month. The amount of any [such]
payment or payments shall be as specified [hereinabove] in this
section. Nothing in this section shall be construed or applied
to change or amend in any manner the provisions of § 304 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1955 Edition).
