Occurred: Ch. 699 of the Acts of 1968.

(q) (1) The board of license commissioners of Howard County
may employ such inspectors as may be necessary at such
compensation as the County Council may by budget provide. The
inspectors of Howard County shall be known as "alcoholic beverage
inspectors for Howard [County,"] COUNTY", and they shall each
have all the powers of a peace officer or a constable or sheriff
of the State of Maryland, and shall make oath to faithfully
perform the duties entrusted to them, as provided in Article I, §
9 of the Constitution of the State of Maryland. The inspectors
shall have such duties as the board of license commissioners of
Howard County may prescribe.

The liquor control board of each county shall have full
power and authority within its county:

(a)  (2) This [section] PARAGRAPH applies only to Garrett
County. The position of clerk of the board of license
commissioners is abolished as of July 1, 1987. The County
Commissioners shall provide administrative, clerical, and
accounting services to the board of license commissioners as are
needed in the execution of their duties under the provisions of
this article. The County Commissioners shall provide legal
counsel to the board of license commissioners through the office
of the county attorney or bear the expense of competent private
legal counsel for the board.
