WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                       Ch. 2

(ii) In order for the individual to participate
as a contestant in a boxing match in the State:

1.  If the individual has participated as
a contestant in more than 12 boxing matches in or outside the
State;

2.   If the individual is knocked out or
receives a technical knockout as a result of neurological injury
in 2 successive boxing matches; or

3.  On the recommendation of a ringside
physician.

(2)  On the basis of the neurological examination of
the individual and the recommendation of the licensed physician
or surgeon who specialzes in neurology or neurosurgery, the
Commission may:

(i) Refuse to issue or renew for the individual
a license to participate as a contestant in a boxing match; or

(ii) Prohibit the individual from participating
as a contestant in a boxing match in the State.

(3)  The Commission shall pay for the cost of a
neurological examination required under this subsection from the
license fees collected under this section.

(4)  The physician or surgeon conducting the
neurological examination required under this subsection shall not
be considered an employee of the State.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Ch. ___, Acts of 1988, which enacted the

Tax - General Article, renumbered former Art. 56, §
112(b) through (f) as § 112AB .and added subsection
(b), to clarify that the Commission regulates and
authorizes amateur events.

113.

Before THE COMMISSION GRANTS any license [shall be granted]
to any person, club, OR corporation to conduct, hold or give any
boxing or sparring or wrestling match or exhibition, [such] THE
applicant [therefor shall execute and file with the Commission a
bond in the sum of five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars to be
approved as to form, and the sufficiency of the sureties thereon,
by the Commission conditioned upon the payment of the license
fees hereby imposed, and] shall [also] execute and file with the
Commission a bond in the sum of [two thousand ($2,000.00)
dollars] $2,000, or such greater sum as the Commission may deem
necessary, such bond to be approved as to form and the
sufficiency of the sureties thereon by the Commission and to be
conditioned upon the payment, within such time as the Commission
shall fix, of all expenses incurred in connection with such match
