(1)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE
SUBWHOLESALER;

(2)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE VENDING
MACHINE OPERATOR; OR

(3)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE WHOLESALER.

(B) ISSUANCE BY CLERK.

THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR THE COUNTY WHERE THE
PLACE OF BUSINESS IS LOCATED SHALL ISSUE A LICENSE TO ENGAGE IN
THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE RETAILER TO EACH APPLICANT WHO MEETS
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first sentence of
former Art. 56, § 69, the references to issuance by
the "clerk" and the "Comptroller" in the first
sentences of §§ 65 and 66, respectively, and the third
clause of the second sentence of former Art. 81, §
446.

This section is rephrased to state expressly the duty
of the Comptroller and the Clerk of the Circuit Court
to issue a license if the requirements of this
subtitle are met.

SAME -- SCOPE.

WHILE IT IS EFFECTIVE, A LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS PART I OF
THIS SUBTITLE AUTHORIZES THE LICENSEE TO:

(1)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE RETAILER;

(2)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE
SUBWHOLESALER;

(3)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE VENDING
MACHINE OPERATOR; OR

(4)  ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A CIGARETTE WHOLESALER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is a standard provision added
to state expressly the scope of a license.
