RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND

COUNCIL OF SHARPSBURG

TO AMEND AND RESTATE THE TOWN CHARTER

Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Sharpsburg, adopted
this 6th day of October, 1986, pursuant to the authority of
Article 11-E of the Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1981 Repl. Vol.)
entitled "Corporations-Municipal," subtitled "Home Rule,"
sub-headed "Charter Amendments," to amend the restate in its
entirety the Charter of the Mayor and Council of Sharpsburg as
set forth in Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Washington County (1957).

[Section(s) 29-1 through 29-25, inclusive of the Charter of
the Town of Sharpsburg, Washington County, as found in the
compilation of Municipal Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition),
repealed.

Section(s) 101 through 1206, inclusive of the Charter of the
Town of Sharpsburg, Washington' County, as found in the
compilation of Municipal Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition),
added.

Effective Date November 25, 1986]

PREAMBLE

RESOLUTION TO ENLARGE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TOWN OF SMITHSBURG, A
MUNICIPAL CORPORATION EXISTING UNDER
AND BY VIRTUE OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Smithsburg
have passed and enacted a certain resolution in accordance with
the Town Charter originally enacted on March 5, 1957, 1957 Code,
Section 582, Section 3, and pursuant to Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Smithsburg have caused the enlargement of the corporate
boundaries by annexation.
